So it's December 18, and my turn to host the challenge. As a part of today's challenge I am supposed to put up a book review I did this year. I'll be going with the most recent one I did:
Sneaking Candy by Lisa Burstein
Book Title: Sneaking CandyAuthor: Lisa Burstein
Genre: New Adult, Contemporary Romance
Publication Date: December 9th 2013
by Entangled Publishing
[Review Copy]
My Rating: 4 out of 5 stars
My Review:
Candice Salinas. Candy Sloane. Two totally different person. Or maybe not.
The story starts off with Candice, a pretty much normal girl leading a normal life, having normal academic and family issues. As she believes, her life is full of clichés. And in this cliché-full life; Candy seems to be her only escape to a moment of solace. It’s like Dr Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (except for the fact that here she isn’t any psycho). The two are totally different personalities, each needing the other somehow. Candice is more of a person who wants to be on the ‘safe side’ of things, her studies, scholarship, PhD, her career as a writer, proving her worth to her parents…and not opening up to the guy she may or may not have serious feelings for. She lives a life within her self made safety shell.

DeleteI am trucking along with A Dance with Dragons. I don't think I will finish it by the end of the read-a-thon, but I am making headway! Geek Girl sounds interesting. :)
ReplyDeleteAs long as you enjoy your read, it's okay to fall behind a little I believe...and it's not like I have made any HUGE progress with my tbr pile either...in the end, for me, the excitement and the fun in reading along with others is all that matters :D So just enjoy the read ;)
DeleteGeek Girl looks good....I get the whole life around books thing....the end of this week has gotten harder to read!
ReplyDeleteThat is actually an interesting read, though I should mention it's not completely what it appears to be from the title...*sigh* I should really post a review, had just been lazy(I get so unprofessional sometimes, it's like a disease:\)...lol for me end of every week gets harder to read(and I wonder why?) All the best with your whole life around books thing ;D
DeleteI'm so late, but I'm posting this challenge anyway.
